These measures are easy to understand, but they only tell part of the story. “A pipeline can appear healthy on paper while producing disappointing fundraising results. It can contain thousands of prospects and significant estimated capacity yet struggle to generate meaningful philanthropic growth.” Why?
Why? “Because a pipeline is not inventory. A pipeline is a system.” The question is not how much is in the pipeline. The question is whether the pipeline is moving.
