Getting listed starts by routing the offer to the directory buyers use for that job. Choose the directory before working on profile copy: the wrong partner program can put a company in the wrong directory,1 and confusing the App Marketplace and Solutions Directory costs leads.2 Then confirm eligibility, shape the profile around buyer filters, pass review, and inspect the live result. The listing is a searchable buying surface that needs maintenance after publication.
Choose the directory
Name what the buyer is trying to hire you for. Let that purchase determine where the offer belongs before you spend time on profile copy.
HubSpot has two directory routes.3 Its Solutions Directory lists agencies and consultancies.4 Its App Marketplace lists software products.5 Use the App Marketplace for software that integrates with HubSpot.6
For a Microsoft Marketplace app, create a developer account, prepare the app, and submit it for review.7 Prepare Terms of Use and a Privacy Policy as part of the submission requirements.8 Microsoft sellers evaluate services partners for co-selling based on the business profile published in Partner center.9 That profile needs to explain the service a seller can confidently put in front of a customer.
Confirm eligibility and visibility
Check whether the program allows you to appear and whether the public display setting is active before polishing the listing. A complete profile cannot make up for missing status or a hidden listing.
For Google Partners, a company needs Premier Partner or Partner status and must opt in on the Company details page to display its details publicly.10 Opting in is the default when signing up for Google Partners.11 Use the filters to inspect all partners, regions, certifications, and partner names.12
An Amazon partner listing appears in the marketplaces and supported languages selected by the partner.13 Decide those markets and languages before submission, then check that the profile buyers should see is available in each one.
Build the profile around buyer filters
Write the profile so a buyer can classify the offer without guessing. Use the fields buyers can search as a checklist for what the listing must make clear.
A Google Partner page shows the company name, website URL, region, and product areas where the company has Google Ads certifications.14 Keep each field consistent with the offer you want buyers to find.
In Amazon's directory, advertisers can filter partners by services and products offered.15 They can also filter by service delivery model.16 Budget and pricing options are filters too.17 Geographic location and languages are filtering options too.18
HubSpot customers browse the App Marketplace by category or search by name and keyword.19 Put the buyer's problem and the product's use case into the terms used in those searchable fields.
A complete, accurate listing improves visibility and ranking in the directory.20 Rankings factor in certifications, product support, and advertiser growth.21 Keep the profile specific enough for a buyer to choose the right category and broad enough to cover the service you can deliver.
Prepare for review and publication
Treat submission as a quality gate. Have someone follow the process from account access through the live listing, because directories check different parts of the submission.
Developers often struggle with account creation and face validation issues during Microsoft submission.22 Resolve those access and validation problems before judging the listing's performance.
Amazon listings require both logo approval and content moderation approval.23 Review typically takes 72 hours.24 Listings are viewable only in languages for which translations have been provided.25 Allow for the review window in your launch plan and check each translated version after approval.
The Google Partners program performs additional directory reviews that include malware, profanity, and trademark checks.26 Google Partners may remove a Partner from the directory when it detects a problem.27
Update Google company information on the Company details page in the Partners program tab.28 Changes may take up to 24 hours to update.29 Verify the company name, address, and website URL on that page before sending people to the listing.30
Inspect the live listing
Publication starts the buyer test. Search the live page as someone with a specific need, then check whether the route, category, location, language, and service description lead to the right interpretation.
Amazon partners can access their listing directly with the Partner Network ID.31 Use that access point to review the page after changes instead of relying only on the submission view.
A directory listing helps advertisers find and evaluate services based on their specific needs.32 Check whether a buyer can tell what you provide, where you provide it, and which type of engagement fits without opening several other pages.
Lead volume varies, and the directory works alongside the Leads Passing and Management feature to support demand generation.33 Track the listing as a discovery route with its own inspection routine, then improve the fields that fail the buyer test.
What not to do
These mistakes create gaps between being eligible, being visible, and being understood.
- Assume uploading an offer completes a Microsoft Marketplace listing. Getting listed requires more than submitting an offer.34
- Submit an app without thorough testing. Common errors and rejections can follow.35
- Leave listing information that cannot be verified. All listing information must be accurate and verifiable.36
- Read the Google directory only in its default view. It defaults to Premier Partners.37
- Use a website URL without an HTTP or HTTPS prefix. Google checks that formatting.38
